The purpose of Research and Thesis is to give all biology majors an opportunity to experience scientific research. In developing an independent research project with a faculty adviser, students spend three semesters going through the following essential scientific steps:
- Literature search and analysis
- Hypothesis development
- Acquisition and analysis of scientific data
- Oral and written presentation of scientific information
